JayCassie is written as if she’s still the MC’s emotional center, she’s still the “one that got away”, she’s still the ideal he compares others to, she’s still the woman he subconsciously wants, But none of that aligns with the actual story events.
She ghosted him. She abandoned the relationship. She didn’t explain. She didn’t fight. She probably didn’t stay loyal with 5-9 years having passed. She didn’t stay present. She didn’t stay committed. The MC should be done with her, you don't get back with EX's especially when they ghosted the relationship without a word. Instead, the dev forces him to act like a puppy whenever she appears, making it all just cringe.
