After that, it's entirely up to you. You make every single decision, which means you can control the outcomes of the scenes.

i got past the shut up and follow me part, reload game, load a different save, resave that save again in the same spot, load a save near the shut up part, and slowly press enter after each frame

  Convince them? You mean talking with them once and then attempting to buy them gifts? You need to help Caitlin to go through with it though.
  
  Or do you mean with the training? You must follow Sam's path: at least 3 weeks hanging out with her at the library before she can manage to go through 75% of her first training lesson. After the upcoming mission the other two girls are supposed to be unlocked for training, but then the game's development stops.

Game locks up at the party when Caitlin says (In that case, I need you to shut up and follow me). Beyond that, a little grindy but interesting.
