Good game, so far!
I normally don't play 2d games, most other 2d game are point and walk and the maps are huge! Nice quaint map size and no walking, big plus from me.

A little critique:
In town, the red arrow going to the tavern. Bring that lower, maybe to the two pillars? I play mobile, 90% of the time and with arrow in the current location I keep hitting the web browser address bar.
Same thing in the cave. Move the arrow up in to the walk path and away from 'hide text' feature. This one less dramatic, but still the same issue in mobile play.

I agree with others, a little video/animation would be nice but overall still a good game.

I might recommend bring out character kinks.

Might be worth changing one character to goth-ish.
