Deliverance - The story behind this game is one that is as fascinating as it is troubling. The story revolves around a detective that is well known for being one of the best. He has solved more cases and caught more bad guys than anyone on the police force. Suddenly, things take a turn, and it appears that he’s joining forces with the dark side. Will this good guy cop break into temptation and work alongside the people who he helped put in prison?

It is a horror, so by the nature of the genre you'd expect to have a few plot issues and this is no different. But on the whole they can be ignored. That's curious because I don't like horrors primarily for that reason.
The story maintains good flow throughout with only a hint of mystery by obscuration. Here they give the reasonable idea that the evil enemy doesn't reveal the full plan. Also it's implied that the MC must ultimately make the decision himself.
You get a full cast of unique and interesting characters, including other men that have a significant part in the story. There probably isn't a bad character amongst them, with even short term ones having a personality. Of course there are those that stand out from the 13 or so main or regulars, sure Kat, but also Sarah. The focus isn't only on the MC, yet it has the right mix to make sure the 'hero' is clear and doesn't appear too passive or a passenger dependant on others, even if he isn't aware about why he's being targeted.
It's not a story/game about kinks, there's a few reasonably placed. I think the main idea is one of loving relationships, even when MC or his wife plays with others.
The endings are not only dependant on light/dark, but also on the affection points with character or other triggers: too much with a specific 'LI' you're left with a choice of 2 out of the 8 endings. There's one truly bad ending for the MC, so in the main you're going to do well, though the best LI attain is via a dark path. I find myself of disagreeing with the idea that the MC would only take over everything if dark, surely the good guys could win it all?! Endings: 2 concern the standing with LIs independant of light/dark; 1 bad; 2 dark > light (+ other factors) ; 3 light > dark (+ other factors). If only there was a good ending the polyamority. But regardless the AVN is very, very good and still a standout after over 6 years.
